"Be subordinate to one another out of reverence for Christ." — Ephesians 5:21

God gives us relationships, especially marriage and family, as opportunities to grow in holiness. As St. Paul reminds us, love is more than affection or words; it requires sacrifice, humility, and a willingness to put the needs of others before our own. Just as Christ gave Himself completely for the Church, we are called to give of ourselves generously, allowing our relationships to shape us into people who love as Christ loves. Through the challenges of patience, forgiveness, and selflessness, God invites us to die to ourselves so that others may grow and we may become more like Him.

Perhaps the question for us this week is not simply, “How are others helping me?” but “How am I allowing God to use my relationships to teach me to love, sacrifice, and grow in holiness?”
